Woman accused of setting husband on fire for cheating

A fiery argument between a married couple in Kentucky resulted in the wife allegedly dousing her husband with gasoline and setting him ablaze because she thought he was unfaithful.

Fox News reports that Vera Wooten, 40, was charged with first-degree assault after she allegedly attacked her husband, John Wooten, in a jealous rage.

The 40-year-old wife then bundled her injured spouse into a vehicle and raced to St Joseph Hospital London.

"Oh God, he's absolutely in flames up to his head", said the caller.

She then poured gasoline on him and lit him on fire, according to officers. "He's running around. I don't know if he's still.he's still in flames", the woman said after calling 911. The woman then turned back, saw Wooten was on fire and called 911, police said.

In the court order, Judge Neil Biggers states Nutt's claims didn't involve any federal statues or U.S. Constitution claims, meaning a federal court does not have jurisdiction over the case.

He had burns over half of his body and had to be airlifted to a Cincinnati hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Vera Wooten, 40, of Corbin, Kentucky has been accused of setting her husband on fire in their home and then driving him to a local hospital.

"He is burned from his knees to his neck", Laurel County Deputy Gilbert told the News Journal. Two years ago, she allegedly fired at him in Jackson, in Breathitt County.

Wooten remains in jail facing assault and domestic violence charges.
