Elmira Police said the infant was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Harriette Hoyt who belongs to Sayre, Pennsylvania has been arrested on Tuesday night, she has been put behind the bars in charge of attempted murder.
She has since been transported to another hospital for further evaluation.
Police say now say she had been there for three days.

Elmira resident Kayla Seals, who rescued the baby girl, tells WENY she heard some unusual noises come from behind the backyard and went to check it out, initially thinking it was a cat or a dog.
As Kayla approached, she realized the object on the ground was a baby in the plastic bag. "The child was immediately transferred to a local hospital and is now in stable condition". Her head was in the bag.
Sgt William Solt, with Elmira police, on Wednesday confirmed to DailyMail.com that Hoyt is the mother of the little girl found abandoned in the trash.
Police praised the sisters for immediately getting the child inside.
