Aamir Khan unveils the much-awaited trailer of 'Secret Superstar'

In his upcoming film Secret Superstar too, Aamir Khan is playing a mentor, a music composer who helps Zaira Wasim navigate her way through life and its problems.

Khan will be seen spearheading the promotions for his next production that will also feature him as a "Dal main tadka", as he put it.

Directed by Advait Chauhan, Secret Superstar is the story of a young girl (played by Zaira Wasim) who dreams of becoming a famous singer but her father is against the idea. In his latest post, Aamir also said that the trailer of the movie will release today.

In the meet, Aamir said that he was not completely sure about his role and he even went for the screen test, meanwhile, his wife Kiran Rao obliged him from playing the key role in the movie as it appeared to her that Aamir has to play few vulgar scenes. So such type of films should be made very often.

"I thought she was flawless for Dangal, but we were doing screen tests for Secret Superstar at the same time and it was quite clear she fit both roles", said Khan, 52, who is best known for hit movies such as 3 Idiots (2009) and Lagaan (2001). For me as an actor it was definitely a challenge to play a character like this and for people to believe that he is like this. That we look differently at our daughters. It's a kind of a creepy character, the kind of guy you really don't want to hang out with alone in a room. She told me that she only wanted to direct. But he wasn't the original fit. It's with great difficulty that I persuaded her to sing a song for our Paani Foundation. Zaira played the role of young Geeta Phogat in the film Dangal which was a blockbuster hit and did more than expected business at the box office. With producing, the actor also has an extended cameo in the film.
