CBO: Revised Senate health bill still leaves 22 million uninsured

Is there any way for the bill in the Senate to be transformed by the Republicans in the House into more of a repeal bill?

In 2015, after Republicans had won control of both the House and Senate, Congress enthusiastically sent a bill to President Obama that repealed most of his signature domestic achievement. Their ranks would jump to 27 million two years later when the bill would end two cornerstones of the ACA: subsidies that help the vast majority of consumers buying health plans through its marketplaces to pay for monthly premiums, and the expansion of Medicaid to people slightly above the poverty line. CBO staff said they are working on an analysis of the amendment.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office warned at the time that repealing Obamacare would boot a staggering 32 million people off health care by 2026, compared to current law.

That is not all positive.

"And frankly, he added, "I don't think we should leave town unless we have a health insurance plan, unless we can give our people great healthcare". In other words, out-of-pocket expenses from deductibles and co-payments would grow.

The last ditch effort comes only a day after Republicans attempted to force a vote on a straight repeal of Obamacare - an effort which failed when 3 Republicans came out against the effort. "We need to increase the number of physicians and find new ways to deliver care to more people at a lower cost", he said.

It predicted that average premiums in the private health insurance market that serves individuals who purchase policies directly from insurers would increase by roughly 25 per cent relative to projections under the existing system.

Hagen rounds out a solid win
The terrain for stage 19 suited a sprinter's type finish and a bunch sprint was not out of the cards entering the day. After the stage win, Boasson Hagen credited the team's positive attitude for keeping his motivation high.

"We can not keep the commitment we made to the American people to repeal and replace Obamacare unless we get on the bill", he explained.

The long term and post-acute care (LT/PAC) profession has pushed to scuttle the BCRA and its deep cuts to Medicaid funding, which they say would seriously damage the ability of skilled nursing and assisted living operators to meet the needs of the nation's elderly and people with disabilities.

In exchange for these coverage losses and the Senate bill's weakening of consumer protections for health insurance policyholders, health care corporations would enjoy hundreds of billions of dollars in tax cuts.

All Democrats are against the plan and Republicans were already down one vote in Sen.

A pro-ObamaCare group is launching a new round of ads pressuring three key Senate swing votes to vote against repeal of the healthcare law.

McConnell has set aside this bill for now, saying that he plans to bring a different measure to a vote next week.

The agency found that a revised version of the legislation would reduce the deficit by $420 billion over the next decade, giving Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a $287 billion fund since he still must save as much as the House's counterpart bill did.
