Police remand report reveals why Dileep bore grudge against the Malayalam actress

The arrest of top Malayalam hero Dileep in actress Bhavana's "kidnap and molestation" case has sent tremors across the Malayalam film industry. The court also decided that the bail hearing will be held in open court.

The Ankamaly Magistrate Court has rejected Dileep's bail plea: He was sent to 2 days police custody. "Dileep denied knowing Pulsar Suni, but a selfie leaked to the media showed the accused on the sets of the actor's film Georgettan's Pooram".

On February 17, a leading Kerala actress was abducted and molested in a auto allegedly by a man named "Pulsar Suni" aka Sunil Kumar. The police had then arrested the actress's ex-driver Pulsar Suni, who had worked for other actors in the industry too.

The 48-year-old actor, charged with criminal conspiracy in the sensational case, was brought to the court amid tight security. The same people who had perhaps lined up in many previous occasions to applaud Dileep, hooted loudly as he was taken in and out from court.

In the next two days the police are expected to take the actor to the places where the conspiracy to attack the actress was allegedly hatched. The actress plucked up courage to immediately lodge a police complaint. Opposition leader in the assembly Ramesh Chennithala said the actor was arrested after a prisoner who shared the cell with main accused Pulsar Suni, had given important leads to the police. Questioned for 13 hours last month, the actor said he did not know Suni. According to the police, the investigators recorded the statements of the hotel staff and seized a few documents. He went onto state that he had nothing to do with the abduction of the actress and it's just a cheap ploy to malign his image just before the release of his film Ramaleela.
