The family celebrated with a dinner out in NY after the draft Thursday.

To no one's surprise, the Philadelphia 76ers drafted Markelle Fultz with the first pick of the 2017 NBA Draft on Thursday night. He even went as far to say that he would only play for Los Angeles.

The 48-year-old Ball watched his son get selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft on Thursday, and his first shot at the Staples Center spotlight may come as soon as Monday if he winds up on WWE's signature program, Raw.

"Well, we've drafted a few players, we retain the rights to those players, he said". They also wanted a player who could fill in at the point when Simmons is on the bench. Come see me when he does. And boy - if he would have played with Lonzo Ball this year, he would have been a first round pick.

Can Lonzo Ball provide a winning season for the Lakers?

The tease of the potential ahead has caused Sixers fans to react with their wallets: the Sixers said Wednesday they have sold a franchise-record 14,000 season ticket packages for next season.

Bolden, who is 6-10, 227 pounds, was born in Australia, attended high school in the states and played the 2015-16 season at UCLA and played pro ball last season in Serbia, reports Jessica Camerato at CSNPhilly.com.

NBA Draft: Evaluating the top 5 picks
The overall trade viewpoint is about 50/50 and most people feel like that both teams accomplished what they wanted from the trade. Jimmy Butler is easily a top 15 player in the National Basketball Association and one of the league's top two-way talents.

"By adding a player of Markelle's caliber to our promising roster, we believe we're incredibly well positioned for the future", team owner Josh Harris said.

The Philadelphia 76ers took Fultz with the No. 1 pick and the Lakers followed by taking Ball, with the point guards from the Pac-12 Conference beginning a run of seven straight freshmen.

LaVar Ball has been making big claims about his sons' abilities since the day they were born. He likes to get his teammates involved and the Lakers should immediately improve with a leader and floor general.

When the organization introduced Ball on Friday at the team's practice facility, Lakers president of basketball operations Earvin "Magic" Johnson called him "the new face of the Lakers, the guy who I think will lead us back to where we want to get to".

One of the men responsible for Ball landing in Los Angeles was Magic Johnson.

The Celtics then took Duke's Jayson Tatum at No. 3 after moving down two spots in the trade with Philadelphia, drawing cheers from a large contingent of their fans at Barclays Center wearing green. The Sacramento Kings selected De'Aaron Fox to round out the top five. He averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists as a junior.
