When the Confederations Cup groups were settled, Germany and Chile being put in the same group appeared to make for the most tantalizing matchup in the competition, and the two powers delivered an entertaining bout in Kazan, Russia, with their 1-1 draw. Both of these teams are top teams, the German national team are world champions, and even though Joachim Loew brought the second squad to Russian Federation, this team is still very competitive and capable of achieving high goals. "We will go for it from the first minute and see after 90 minutes where we arrive".

Germany improved toward the end, grabbing control of the middle of the pitch, but neither team was able to create many significant chances to break the deadlock.

"I am very satisfied with my boys", said Loew.

Forward Alexis Sanchez became Chile's all-time leading scorer with 38 goals after he sent his team ahead with a close-range shot in the 6th minute. He will replace Bernd Leno who made several mistakes in their group opener, including gifting Australia their second goal after he spilled the ball in the box.

While wrapping up their place in the next round with a win here would have allowed either to rest players in the final group match, both sides remain in a fairly strong position given the gulf in class between themselves, Cameroon and Australia, who sit on just one point apiece.

More than 1,000 rescue workers are on the scene searching for survivors under heavy boulders, state media reported. A meteorologist interviewed by CCTV said there was light rain in the area that would continue for a few days.

Milligan came to the Socceroos' rescue by slotting home a spot kick on 60 minutes as both sides picked up their first Confederation Cup point. "I think that was the game in which Germany suffered the most that year before winning the World Cup". "It's one of the most flexible teams in the world and this means a special challenge for us".

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos fielded the same starting line-up for both their opening 2-0 defeat to Chile and Thursday's disappointing 1-1 draw with Australia.

However, with a point apiece all but guaranteeing qualification for the two teams after Cameroon's draw with Australia, neither went insane in trying to find a victor.

Chile's captain, Inter Milan defender Gary Medel, is fit despite limping out of the draw against Germany with cramp.

"They've a very settled squad, their best players play at the highest level, they have all the attributes needed to be a top team". Australia needs a two-goal win over Chile, and Cameroon needs a three-goal win over Germany in order to upset the favorites and advance.
