Beyoncé and Jay Z welcome twins, reportedly a boy and a girl

Beyonce's father confirms the birth of the twins and gives some detailsA week after the birth of Beyonce's twins, his father, Matthew Knowles, was pleased with the arrival of the two babies on social networks.

He used plenty of hashtags, including #beyonce, #jayz and #twins. Jay Z and Beyonce. who married in 2008, are also parents to a five-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

Sources have announced the golden couple welcomed one girl and one boy on Monday, June 12.

Us Weekly claimed that Beyoncé had fraternal twins: a boy and a girl (though some Twitter users theorized they're both girls after Barack Obama said Jay-Z was "going to have me beat" in the daughter department).

A minor issue with the twins' health is keeping the mother and children in the hospital, and fans have taken to picking up any clues they can find.

Knowles' confirmation, however, angered some of the BeyHive, who thought that the "Formation" singer, 35, should have been the one to announced the twins' arrival.

In May, the star showed off her cute henna-tattooed baby bump at her star-studded push party, which was dubbed the "Carter Push Party".

'As far as we know she's okay.

She wrote at the time: "We would like to share our love and happiness".

Beyoncé has blessed the world by bringing two new members of the Knowles-Carter family into it.

ET has reached out to reps for Beyonce and Jay Z for comment. As of Sunday morning, however, the couple had not made an official announcement and there's no indication of the babies' gender nor their names. "We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support". While she performed at the Grammys to rave reviews, she postponed plans to headline the Coachella Music Festival until 2018.

She said recently: "I'm so excited".
