Kushner lawyer pointed out potential conflict

Chairman Chuck Grassley and the panel's top Democrat, Dianne Feinstein, plan to move forward on their inquiry, which will look into Russian Federation meddling in the elections as well as whether there was any improper political interference with the Federal Bureau of Investigation under both Trump and former President Barack Obama's administration.

According to Comey's written testimony to the committee, the memo detailed what the then-director felt was a request from the president to drop an investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

"After the appointment of our former partner Robert Mueller as special counsel, we advised Mr. Kushner to obtain the independent advice of a lawyer with appropriate experience as to whether he should continue with us as his counsel", Gorelick said.

"I can not read the mind of the special prosecutor", he said.

Sekulow further stressed that Trump is not under any investigation by the FBI or anyone for that matter.

Sekulow concluded that the president can't be investigated for obstruction of justice, because he had full authority to fire Comey - something the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director himself pointed out in his testimony.

Corker says the USA should think about a North Korea travel ban because "trumped-up charges like this can continue to happen". They said that Warmbier's brain injury was probably caused by cardiopulmonary arrest cutting the blood supply to the brain.

Gingrich, a Trump ally and confidant, said he met with Trump in January 2015 and they talked about how much a presidential race would cost - with competitive estimates running to as much as $80 million. Mueller left his position at the firm to lead the investigation.

So the president is not under investigation.

"I think I better wait until I get done with my conversations with Feinstein before I answer that question", said Grassley, who also wants to review any actions taken by Obama attorney general Loretta Lynch to influence the Clinton email investigation. Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, said that the panel - overseeing one of several congressional investigations - is looking forward to getting a response from the White House on whether recordings exist. Cuomo countered. "It's not like this White House is averse to making any kind of inquiries about the Russian Federation probe".

The two leaders of the panel have both been frustrated that key witnesses have testified before the Senate intelligence committee - rather than their panel - and both have warned that Comey in particular could face a subpoena if he does not agree to testify before Judiciary.

Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement Sunday that Trump is "returning us to the forgotten rhetoric of the Cold War". But Senate judiciary committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Sen. King said the "collusion, the cooperation aspect of the investigation is not over".
