Family of United Kingdom mosque attack suspect 'massively shocked'

The incident happened after worshipers were leaving the Finsbury Park mosque after a prayer service. British Security Minister Ben Wallace said authorities were aware of rising far-right activity but the suspect was not known to them prior to the attack.

"ANIC calls upon all Muslims and non-Muslims to stand united against any form of violence and attempts to cause disunity".

Mayor Sadiq Khan, London's first Muslim mayor, implored the city's residents to show solidarity.

Britain's terrorist alert has been set at "severe", meaning an attack is highly likely. She said her thoughts were with the injured, their loved ones and emergency officials who responded to the incident. Three Muslim extremists who carried out the attack were killed by police.

Police say one person died when a van hit crowd of worshippers in north London and the Counter Terrorism Command is investigating the crash.

Police have also denied rumors that a knife was involved.
