Trump Ends Obama Deferred Deportation Plan

The objective of the Thursday announcement, the administration explained, was to clarify that immigrants enrolled in the DACA program would not immediately be affected by a separate action that officially ended a similar program - DAPA - for illegal immigrants whose children are citizens or legal permanent residents.

Thursday's announcement that the Trump administration was rescinding the policy means the administration will no longer defend the policy in court, stating in a press release that "there is no credible path forward to litigate the now enjoined policy".

That is welcome news for about 70 undocumented students who received Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status and are enrolled in medical schools nationwide.

However, the program remained in legal limbo after several states sued the government, saying that Obama had overstepped his constitutional authority and was illegally implementing "back-door amnesty".

"Although this unconstitutional executive amnesty had been temporarily blocked by the courts, it threatened to issue 5 million new work permits to illegal aliens who would mostly compete with low-skilled American workers who still face double-digit unemployment rates and declining wages", Chmielenski continued. The program served to protect undocumented immigrants living in the United States and whose children are American citizens.

Trump on the 2016 campaign trail promised to revoke DACA immediately, and his administration has already deported DACA-protected immigrants. It was aimed at keeping families from being split apart through deportation and introduced alongside the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

President Donald Trump had threatened to axe the Dreamers program, which would have put an estimated 1.7 million people, many of them undocumented students in U.S. schools, at risk of deportation.

As for Apple , there are some reports that claim that the iPhone 8 might have this feature, but nothing has been confirmed yet. A photo, which has been published last week by CNMO, also shows the Note with its dual camera but no scanner on the rear case.

But in an Associated Press interview in April, Trump said his administration is "not after the dreamers, we are after the criminals" and that "The dreamers should rest easy".

"The fact that Trump has not made a decision to remove DACA is a testament to the organizing that has been going on by immigrant groups", said Camila Bortolleto of Brookfield, who received DACA status in 2013.

The DACA program stipulates measures that would protect young immigrants while Congress considers wider immigration legislation that will be ringing about the desired changes to the DACA legislation.

Individuals who fall under the "Dreamer" designation, as defined by President Obama, are children of undocumented immigrants who came to the US not by their own choosing.

White House officials said on June 16 that the president had not made a decision about what would happen with the program in the long term, and that he may still shut it down and deport the Dreamers or cancel their work permits.

The immigration policy leaves the clause intact that allows children of undocumented citizens to remain in the United States.
