Prosecutors had sought to have 13 other accusers testify in Constand's case, but the judge allowed only one, finding that more would unfairly prejudice the jury.
The panel also asked to hear excerpts from Cosby's deposition in 2005 in which he says he gave the sedative Quaaludes to a woman in Las Vegas in 1976 before having sex with her, and that he used them with other women. Round 2 may be just around the corner.
"Prosecuting a case this old is inherently risky as jurors need to have a comfort level that justice is reasonably speedy and has not been delayed for improper reasons", says Dennis McAndrews, a former Pennsylvania prosecutor who has been following the case.
Numerous dozens of women who say Cosby abused them will never have their day in court because the alleged crimes happened outside the statute of limitations.
