Portuguese newspaper A Bola are saying that the four time Ballon d'Or victor does not want to continue in Spain and has grown disillusioned by the €14.7 million tax accusations against him.

So when fresh reports broke on Friday morning claiming that Ronaldo had indicated to Real president, Florentino Perez, that he meant to leave this summer, they were inevitably met with plenty of scepticism.

"Real Madrid C.F. have full confidence in our player Cristiano Ronaldo, who we understand has acted in accordance with the legality regarding the fulfilment of his fiscal obligations", Real said in a statement. Reportedly, Chinese clubs have interest in him as well, but he'd likely want to land in a more competitive league.

The source added: "He's very sad and really upset".

Ronaldo wants to leave Spain.

Ronaldo played a key role in Madrid's Champions League victory last season.

Ronaldo, who joined Real Madrid from English side Manchester United for £80 million (about N40 billion) in 2009, signed a five-year deal with the European champions in November 2016.

"Ronaldo is motivated", young Portugal forward Andre Silva said Friday.

Before the Champions League final two weeks ago, when Madrid won its second consecutive title with two goals by Ronaldo, the star forward said that he was never jeered while playing for Manchester United, and that he missed his time in England even though he loved living in Madrid and playing for Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo is seemingly unhappy despite the fact that Real Madrid are backing him 100% and he has still not been prosecuted.
