This doesn't last for long, however, which sort of encapsulates what makes Rough Night uneven but also what makes it so compelling. The conversations - while amusing - are often long, there's a lot of talking about what they're going to do instead of actually doing it, and the follow through generally takes place in a confined space. Their cliche, stock characters of an oversexed couple who live next door not only are unfunny, they are also shot as badly as they could be.
"So if this is an excuse to be like, hey guys, let's take a look at how few female comedy directors there are and what are we going to do about this, if this is an opportunity to have that discussion then I'm all for it".
Thing is, Kravitz doesn't steal the entire movie, just her scenes with the main cast.

The comedy duo has the chops to make something wild and great they've worked as co-producers and writers on the wonderfully manic millennial friendship comedy "Broad City", which Aniello also directs occasionally. It's fair to say most will sit in the latter category, though any claim that she "nailed it" is truly mislead (but besides the point anyway).

Demi Moore makes a surprise appearance in a supporting role as an over-sexed neighbour who has her "deliciously evil" way with one of the unsuspecting women in a scene which audiences won't soon forget.
