They placed right-handed pitcher Lance McCullers on the 10-day DL with lower back discomfort, per a tweet from Astros beat reporter Brian McTaggart. The 23-year-old saw his 2016 start late and end early due to shoulder and elbow injuries, respectively, so Houston isn't inclined to push him too hard now, especially while sitting on a 12-game lead in the AL West. Martinez has faced the Astros twice this season, allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings in a 10-1 loss on May 3 before pitching out of the bullpen on June 4, when he worked 3 1/3 scoreless innings in a 7-2 defeat.

However, we won't know exactly whats going on with McCullers until more information is released.

In Anaheim, Aaron Judge hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the eighth inning to lead NY to its sixth consecutive victory, over Los Angeles.

"He was good", manager A.J. Hinch said.

Yankees starter Masashiro Tanaka, who received a no-decision, worked 6⅔ innings.

The Rangers will send Yu Darvish to take the pitch in Monday's series opener against the Astros.

McCullers joins lefty Dallas Keuchel and right-hander Charlie Morton on the 10-day disabled list. The original plan was to have Martes pitch in relief for the Astros, but the McCullers injury forced a change of plans.

Blood centersto celebrate World Blood Donor Day on Wednesday
Blood donors must be free of blood-borne pathogens, such as HIV and hepatitis B, to protect patients from infection. Ipswich Blood Donor Centre needs to collect 80 red cell donations and 140 plasma donations every week.

This injury means the Astros are now without their top three starting pitchers coming into the season.

Remy played for Boston from 1978-1984 and is a member of the team's Hall of Fame.

He has 1,284 hits in Japan and 717 in the majors.

Rangers: Texas is still deciding between Dillon Gee (0-0, 3.60) and Nick Martinez (1-3, 4.88) to start on Tuesday.

The Astros failed to hit a home run on Monday to snap their franchise-record 19-game streak with at least one home run. He lasted just one inning against the A's before having what the team described as a "right hip stress reaction".

Astros: Brad Peacock (3-1, 3.15) will start on Tuesday on three days' rest in place of McCullers. In 3.2 innings of work, the Dominican native surrendered four runs on four hits while striking out a pair and walking two.
