President Donald Trump on Friday denied bombshell revelations by former FBI Director James Comey, offering to testify under oath on the matter.
Comey testified Thursday that Trump asked him to drop an investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn and implied Trump may have become the subject of investigation himself for interfering in the FBI's work.
But the following morning he struck back in an early morning tweet: "Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication", he wrote - suggesting Mr Comey had committed perjury.
One of the things Comey told the Senate committee was that he believes he was sacked last month in an effort to "relieve" pressure on Trump from the Justice Department investigation.
Reporter: [Comey] did say, under oath, that you told him to let the Flynn. that you hoped the Flynn investigation would go away.
"Well, I'll tell you about that maybe sometime in the very near future", Mr Trump said. The House intelligence committee is seeking any tapes of the conversations.
Trump had raised the possibility that his conversations with Comey were recorded in a May 12 tweet he sent several days after he fired him.
He leaked details of his memos after an account of it had already been published in the press. The White House later redacted that reason entirely. He also called Comey a "leaker," a day after the hearing.

The Warriors tallied 35 bench points in game five, while Cleveland managed just seven points outside their starting five. LeBron James and the rest of the Cleveland team have come and gone.
"I didn't say that", Trump said of Comey's assertion.
When Comey was sacked, the White House alluded to the director's failure to move forward with the investigation of 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server. I mean doesn't that tell you everything you needed to know about whether or not the president was being - acting in ignorance or acting with complete intentionality?
The reporter then asked if Trump would be willing to speak under oath, as Comey did, to give his version of the events.
"You are going to be very disappointed when you hear the answer", he said a bit cryptically.
Comey told the Senate intelligence committee on Thursday that Trump did make those statements.
In a press conference on Friday.
The FBI is investigating links between associates of Trump during last year's campaign and Russians who sought to influence the election by hacking Democrats.
Robert Mueller, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation director, was appointed as special counsel the week after Comey's firing, which set off a political firestorm and raised suspicions among Democrats and others that the White House was trying to blunt the Federal Bureau of Investigation probe.
