Trump got defensive when asked about Comey's testimony, accusing him of lying under oath about their interactions.
President Donald Trump once again dodged a question as to whether he taped conversations with FBI Director James Comey, as he had suggested in a tweet shortly after sacking him.
Mr Comey also suggested that both Mr Sessions and Jared Kushner hung around after others left the February 14 meeting, raising the possibility that they knew Mr Trump was going to behave inappropriately.
For Trump's most ardent supporters, Comey's testimony exonerated the president.
He portrayed Trump as a chief executive dismissive of the FBI's independence and made clear that he interpreted Trump's request to end an investigation into his former national security adviser as an order coming from the president. Other US officials have said Qatar has already taken some steps to reduce terror funding but that the steps are insufficient.
That shows the former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief thought seriously about the consequences when he met with Trump, according to Jeffrey Cramer, a former assistant USA attorney for the Northern District of IL.
The assertion that the president is a major league liar is hard to dispute, but being caught in a lie has never hurt Trump.
"No collusion, no obstruction", Trump told a White House press conference in reference to the twin controversies dogging his administration - accusations his aides colluded with the Russian effort to tilt the vote, and that he sought to block a probe related to the matter. "Mr. Comey declined on Thursday to offer his opinion on whether he thought Mr. Trump was trying to obstruct justice, but he said that issue is something that a newly appointed special counsel would examine". "President, this is wrong, '?"
Draymond Green insults Cleveland: 'They don't seem like the sharpest people around'
The scorers table initially marked that play down as a common foul on Green and a technical foul on Green as well. It's insane to think that he thought it was my second technical foul and I would get a technical foul for that".
And Comey admitted he asked a friend to leak those notes to a reporter, betting - correctly - that the details would prompt the appointment of a special prosecutor.
Comey was also asked if he believed he was sacked because of the bureau's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election as well as Russia's ties with Trump's campaign.
"I took it as a direction".
"That concerned me because that language tracked how the campaign was talking about the FBI's work and that's concerning", he said.
He said that Comey's testimony may result in some political damage for the president, but he believes it was actually a pretty good day for him in a legal sense.
Meanwhile, the intelligence committee asked White House Counsel Don McGahn in a letter whether any tape recordings or memos of the conversations exist now, or had existed in the past. "The Russians interfered", Comey stated firmly. And now the harshest irony is that, as Comey intimated Thursday, it may no longer be a myth that Trump is being personally investigated. "That happened. It's about as unfake as you can possibly get". But he has also suggested he doesn't believe it, saying Russian Federation is a "ruse" and calling the investigation into the matter a "witch hunt".
Kasowitz disputed those points and attacked Comey for leaking "privileged communications" to the media. Mr Trump's lawyers argue that it was subject to executive privilege, although the president has never asserted privilege over his conversations with Mr Comey and independent legal experts have expressed doubt that he could.
"We will leave it the appropriate authorities to determine whether these leaks should be investigated", he said.
