Donald Trump Ridicules 'Cowardly' Leaker James Comey

"I believe the James Comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone ever thought possible", Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

Lee also specifically addressed Comey's account to Congress of his conversations with the president, including that Trump said he hoped the then-FBI chief could "let go" of the investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Flynn was under active FBI investigation related to his communications with the Russians and other matters.

But Mr. Trump refused to confirm whether or not the tapes exist during a press conference on Friday.

During his testimony, Comey explained why he recorded his private talks with the U.S. president, saying that he was afraid Trump might "lie" about them. When he tells you to do something, guess what?

During the dinner, the president asked him if he wanted to stay on as Federal Bureau of Investigation director, Comey said. He added: "I have never felt pressure to intervene or interfere in any way.in an ongoing investigation".

Trump also said that Comey's testimony "vindicated" the president and that everything in it was "basically ridiculous".

Q So he lied about that?
"I have yet to see anything, even a scintilla", the senator said. "I was sacked because of the Russian Federation investigation", he said.

Within 90 seconds of being on air, Trump Jr. undermined the denials made by his father refuting James Comey's testimony. "Something about the way I was conducting it", Comey told the Senate, "the president felt, created pressure on him that he wanted to relieve". "He should give a straight yes or no to the question of whether or not the tapes exist, and he should voluntarily turn them over not only to the Senate Intelligence Committee, but to the special counsel".

If that was an order, rather than a suggestion, Mr Trump may be vulnerable to the charge of obstruction of justice. Mr Comey's sacking is unlikely to provide the specific grounds for any impeachment of Mr Trump. Mueller will likely want to talk to people around Trump and Comey to find out if they were told about their meetings.

If Trump told his friends and family a different version of his meeting with Comey than he is presenting now, he could be setting himself up for perjury.
