Cavs stay alive with victory in Game 4

Their actions Friday left Golden State fans thinking the league was caping for the Cavaliers, Cleveland fans thinking the league was in the Warriors' pockets, and all impartial observers scratching their heads at the absolute circus unfolding before their eyes.

Don't look now, but the Warriors have a 3-1 lead in the National Basketball Association finals.

My point is: Pachulia does the actual dirty work for Golden State. He's been at his most effective in the Finals when he gets to float around and leave the bulk of the rebounding work to Thompson, and his floor-spreading is a key pressure valve for the Cavs.

In Game 4, Cleveland looked like the team that rolled through the Eastern Conference playoffs, trouncing Indiana, Toronto and Boston by shooting 43.5 percent from behind the arc.

The Cavs set Finals records with 86 points in the first half, 49 in the first quarter, and 3-pointers in a game (24). Kyrie Irving was the game's leading scorer with 40 points and Kevin Love chipped in with 23 points for the Cavs.

By halftime, the Cavs had connected on 13 shots from downtown. There he torched Kyrie Irving for 18 points and six assists in group play and led Serbia to the silver medal. Cleveland attempted one more 3-pointer (45) than they did on Wednesday, but made two-times as many (24). According to the referees, though, the first technical was called on Warriors coach Steve Kerr, not Green.

Green told reporters after the game that he was at least going to be able to play in Game 5 - adding, "Hopefully". They made some tough shots, but we were not sharp defensively, so always a combination. "It's never one thing".

"Just one of those games", Curry said. "Richard Jefferson bent over to talk to a sprawled Curry at one point, making you wonder if he mentioned Curry's classless squat on the court after Kevin Durant's killer three late in Game 3". Their bench is too steady and no matter how well you defend them, they can work for a good shot on every single possession. Whether he was dribbling circles around the defense to get into the paint or pulling up from three, there was no shot he did not like in game 4.

"I was quoted in saying that there was no other option, and that was completely true, and that still stands", Irving said. "And, happily, they went in".

Klay Thompson, Warriors guard: "I'm not even sure (what happened)". But listen, at the end of the day we just got some resilient guys. "I don't think they're necessarily a more physical team, but they were the aggressors, they came out, hit us first, and they deserved to win because of that physicality and aggressiveness". It then dropped another 37 in the second, giving the Cavs another Finals record for most points in a half. I mean, the Cavaliers are a formidable team from deep but that generally means you can expect them to shoot around their season average of 38% from deep.

"You got to give them credit".

You are insane if you think that doesn't have an undue influence on the game, right Draymond Green?

"After calling the loose ball foul on Draymond Green, I noticed the reaction by coach Kerr and then assessed the technical foul", Goble said.
