When the Golden State Warriors needed a superstar to step up and save them from a third straight Game 3 loss in the city of Cleveland, Kevin Durant was there to answer the call.
Irving didn't let that happen in Game 3.
The 49-point quarter was the highest-scoring quarter in any playoff game since 1991, when the Warriors had 49 points in the fourth quarter of a 130-121 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
With the Warriors unbeaten in the postseason and a victory away from a second title in three years, a number of former players have said their teams would have beaten them. Durant's shot hit nothing but net, and the Warriors took a lead they would not relinquish. Durant finished with 31 points and eight rebounds. "We just want a championship and I think we are very capable of finishing flawless". But glad I was able to knock that down.
"Why not? If I become an owner, I'm going to try to sign everybody". Well, at least that's how Draymond Green feels. But it's not as if the Warriors hadn't taken shots, endured runs, and faced down rallying teams. "I've been working on that shot my whole life. That was huge. He wanted that moment". So numerous teams to stand in Golden State's way this postseason have been subject to cold obliteration-the sort of blowout that leaves those involved shell-shocked and numb. Golden State won the National Basketball Association title in 2015 in six games over the Cavs, and Cleveland won previous year in seven games. Part of that was Golden State simply didn't miss many shots; they shot almost 50 percent from the field (48.5 percent to be exact).
In any other year, with a 3-0 series advantage, Curry would be the undisputed Finals MVP. They'll be a flawless 16-0 with a sweep of the Cavs. Eventually, though, they seemed to run out of juice. "It doesn't matter until we get that 16th one". Stay in front of them.
Germany: Climate will last longer than Trump presidency
In December 2015, 195 countries adopted the Paris Climate Accord , which is the first global agreement addressing climate change. Tell the world that of your support for climate action and the Paris climate agreement with the I'm Still In petition .
He said they are going to come out as a confident group, play hard and give themselves a chance in Game 4.
The Cleveland Cavaliers must win tonight, or it's all over. "I had a 101 drives last night. I mean, who am I to say if it's fair or not?" The Cavaliers need James in the game against the Warriors' relentless attack, but there's also a concern that the 12-time All-Star will be gassed down the stretch.
The LeBron vs. the World trend continued in the second quarter.
"We talked about it since The Finals last year", said Curry, "that the last season was a very unique year, for a lot of different reasons, and we learned a lot". "He's been an unbelievable player in this league for a long time, and I think he senses this is his moment, his team". "We understand the task is large, we understand the task has not been done before". And we're right there. "We don't want to take the long 3s and things like that". "This could turn if we come out there thinking we're the champions already".
James and Irving were relentless in the second half and it appeared they had done enough to get Cleveland over the top and perhaps back in the series. I didn't have 101, but you get the gist of it.
"It took a while for it to kind of reveal itself consistently as the regular season went on, but once it clicked and the habits started to become second nature, it was kind of attractive to watch and an incredible kind of style to play and watch unfold", Curry said.
