According to PTI, Trump said, "Comey testimony showed no collusion, no obstruction, he's a leaker, but we want to get back to running country". "I'll tell you about it over a very short period of time", he said.
In his public testimony, Comey did not disclose any links between Trump advisers and alleged Russian attempts to meddle in the 2016 USA presidential election, an issue that has distracted from White House policy goals such as overhauling the US healthcare system and cutting taxes.
During a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, Mr Comey said he believed that Mr Trump had ordered him to drop a criminal investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
Comey also said he asked a friend to share with the media the contents of memos he had written about his conversations with Trump, saying he thought the move would lead to the naming of a special counsel to investigate Russia's interference in the US presidential election.
He added: "Comey has now admitted that he is one of the leakers".
"I'm not hinting at anything", Trump told reporters at a news conference Friday, in response to whether he was hinting that there aren't tapes of his conversation between him and Comey.
Trump had previously indicated via Twitter there were tapes, to which Comey responded during his testimony, "Lordy, I hope there are tapes".
"Those were lies, plain and simple", Comey said of the administration's claims that the Federal Bureau of Investigation was poorly led and in disarray under his leadership, and that agents had lost confidence in him.
"The time had come to call on Qatar to end its funding", Mr Trump said.
United Kingdom police search Manchester property as part of bombing probe
Police have released an image of Manchester bomb suspect Salman Abedi carrying a blue suitcase as they try to trace his movements. However, Abedi had not featured in Prevent, the Government's voluntary counter-radicalisation scheme.
Comey said he had the memos leaked in hopes of prompting an appointment of a special counsel to the Russian Federation investigation. He also said he didn't ask Comey to drop an investigation of Flynn.
Mr Kasowitz plans to file a complaint early next week about Mr Comey's disclosure of conversations with the president, a person close to the legal team said on Friday.
"I don't know", Risch, a member of the intelligence committee, responded.
Mr Comey said he'd asked Mr Richman to share the content of the memo with a reporter.
Trump had raised the possibility that his conversations with Comey were recorded in a May 12 tweet he sent several days after he fired him. "This reminds me of the taping system...that Richard Nixon had - you remember that issue went all the way to the Supreme Court, and the president was ordered to turn over the tapes".
Comey also accused the White House of defaming him.
Trump also denied asking Comey for a pledge of loyalty during one of a string of private meetings. He took detailed notes about his conversations with the president, he told a small circle of people who could corroborate his account and he testified under oath Thursday about all this. "I was sacked in some way to change, or the endeavour was to change, the way the Russian Federation investigation was being conducted".
Mr Richman has now been asked to provide the memo to the panel.
