The most recent example of President Trump rebuking the London Mayor after the London Bridge terror attacks was by no means an isolated incident.
Trump accused Khan of downplaying the attacks, after telling Londoners that "there's no reason to be alarmed".
Donald Trump Jr. vociferously defended his father's Twitter remarks on Tuesday and criticized the way London mayor Sadiq Khan has dealt with the aftermath of the London Bridge attack during a segment on "Good Morning America".
Mr Khan, a Muslim, has previously criticised the president's plans to temporarily restrict travel to the USA from six mainly Muslim countries.
But one would think that the president would be mature enough to set aside his personal differences during a time of crisis.
Former Democratic U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, defeated by Trump last November, praised Khan's performance in dealing with the attacks. No need to let maturity or diplomatic relations stand in the way of a "pathetic" tweet.
Sadiq Khan has felt the wrath of Donald Trump more frequently than any other British politician. And I think that's what he's trying to say, because he's been proven right about it every time.
Durant helps Warriors into 3-0 series lead
The local fans have never seen Kevin Durant win a game in Cleveland when LeBron James was on the Cavaliers. There were moments in the regular season where the egos clashed, and the stars weren't quite aligned.
British author J.K. Rowling said on Tuesday that if a state visit did go ahead, Trump's tweets related to the attack should be enlarged and shown wherever he goes. In the interview, Mr Khan was, in fact, urging Londoners not to be alarmed when they see more police and armed officers on the streets as a precautionary measure derived from previous terror attacks. The mayor aimed to calm fears in the face of an increased police presence, his spokesman said.
"We have worked with Sadiq Khan in responding to this attack".
"What have you got against them?"
Asked on Tuesday about the London visit, White House spokesman Sean Spicer said only that Trump meant to go and that "he appreciates her majesty's gracious invitation".
The Mayor said on Channel 4 last night that Trump's visit to the United Kingdom should be, consequently, cancelled.
Prime Minister Theresa May has faced criticism from Labour and from within her own ranks about her early visit to Washington to meet with the President just days after his inauguration in January, and her invitation of a state visit.
"[Trump's] policies go against everything we stand for", Khan said to Channel 4 on Monday.
