Rep. Chris Collins: London Mayor Started Feud With Trump

In a clear reference to Trump's tweets Sunday and Monday criticizing London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Clinton said: "It's a time for steady, determined leadership - like we are seeing from local authorities in London, including the mayor of London".

Trump challenged London Mayor Sadiq Khan for saying there was "no reason to be alarmed".

Trump and Khan, the son of Pakistani immigrants and the first Muslim elected as London's mayor, have been at odds since Khan denounced as "ignorant" Trump's campaign pledge to impose a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States. You will see an increased police presence today, including armed officers and uniformed officers.

In response, a spokesperson for the London mayor said Khan "is busy working with the police, emergency services and the government to coordinate the response to this horrific and cowardly terrorist attack".

With obvious exasperation, Khan reiterated his office's previous statements about how he's been dealing with more pressing matters than Trump's tweets recently.

Johnson, London's former mayor, also defended Khan, saying he had been "entirely right to say what he said to reassure the people of his city".

Mr Khan has called for the US President's planned state visit to the United Kingdom to be scrapped, but Mrs May said Mr Trump's controversial trip would go ahead. "And it has gone on too long", he said.

"We stand together tonight to honour the memories of the innocent lives lost and people injured in the barbaric attack on our city".

During the White House briefing on Monday, spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Trump uses social media because it allows him to talk directly to the people.

Mr Khan has come under repeated criticism from Donald Trump over his handling of the terror attacks. Since taking office on January 20, Trump has ordered temporary travel restrictions on people from several Muslim-majority countries, although the ban is now held up by federal courts.

Trump clearly chose to insult Khan because he's a Muslim.

"As the mayor of London I want to send a clear message to the sick and evil extremists who commit this ugly crimes; we will defeat you". Three suspects were shot and killed in the wake of the carnage and all were wearing fake suicide belts, police said.

But Giffords stressed that gun debates happen regardless, and she used the false claim that "90 people in our country die from gun violence [every day]" to bolster her position.

"Trump told the crowd at the gala that he spoke with British Prime Minister Theresa May to 'express our unwavering support.' The president said the USA will do everything in its power to 'bring those that are guilty to justice.' Adding, 'American sends our thoughts and prayers'".
