On an entirely different level though is his signature initiative formally known as "One Belt, One Road".

Until this deal - which included China giving the U.S. access to its beef market and parts of its financial-services industry - the USA had no plans to attend the forum, and Chinese media was making a big deal of it.

But Beijing extended an olive branch after President Xi Jinping spoke to new South Korean President Moon Jae-in to congratulate him on his appointment.

The Belt and Road Initiative is not just about production capacity and capital, but most importantly about culture, said Li, who leads a fast-growing company which provides a user system on Android mobile phones globally, seeing more than one billion users in the past three years.

The belt and road summit beginning on Sunday in Beijing will now look like a proper global gathering, with Washington, Seoul and Tokyo agreeing to send delegations.

And this is important to China not just because it wants to promote a globalized world - the country has tons of excess capacity in commodities like steel and aluminum, and a big worldwide infrastructure push could help use some of that excess. The US and a number of other western countries have either skipped the summit or deputed officials to attend it.

"We've said all along the Belt and Road is an open, inclusive initiative", Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told a daily news briefing.

During his visit, Nikai was expected to hand over a personal letter from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Xi, according to the Japan News.

He said: "I was screaming [and] pulling what little hair I've got left out [but Joshua] showed a lot in that fight". The London Olympic gold medallist is expected to defend those titles in October or November.

In the last few days, China is trying to assuage India's feelings by asserting that the commercial corridor will not have any impact on its stand that the Kashmir issue should be settled by India and Pakistan through dialogue.

The forum will showcase China's Belt & Road (B&R) initiative that has put India in a piquant situation as it included the United States dollars 46 billion China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which goes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

"We believe China will bring more investment to Nepal, helping the country overcome its status as a landlocked and least developed nation", said Nepal Foreign Minister Prakash Saran Mahat at the signing of the deal on Friday.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will attend the meeting to highlight the progress of the CPEC which is regarded as flagship project of the B&R.

"India may be still skeptical of the B&R because it views it as a threat its national core interests", he said.

A top USA intelligence official warned on Friday China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would provide militant groups operating within Pakistan with "additional targets". The notion that this project is created to access new markets for China and presents a challenge and even "threat" to the future of Europe is wrong and unwarranted, as it neglects the many facets of the initiative and overlooks the fresh perspectives it will bring to European integration.

The OBOR aims to enhance connectivity and cooperation among countries, primarily between China and the rest of Asia and Europe through land as well as maritime routes.
