Hulu announced these series pick-ups at its upfront session in NY, the television industry's annual gathering in which networks pitch upcoming shows to advertisers and, by proxy, announce them to the rest of the world.
First things first. Marvel's Runaways is based on the award-winning Marvel comics created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona. For years, Marvel attempted to bring this comic to the big screen, but last year, a deal was reached to film a Runaways pilot episode for Hulu.
Earlier today we got the first trailer for Netflix's upcoming Marvel team-up series The Defenders [watch it here], and now we have more Marvel TV news, as Hulu has announced today that it has given a series order to the Runaways adaptation. Schwartz and Savage will serve as Co-Showrunners/writers and will executive produce the series along with Marvel's, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. It stars Rhenzy Feliz (Teen Wolf) as Alex Wilder, Lyrica Okano (The Affair) as Nico Minoru, Virginia Gardner (Goat) as Karolina Dean, Ariela Barer (New Girl) as Gert Yorkes, Gregg Sulkin (Faking It, Anti Social) as Chase Stein, and Allegra Acosta (Just Add Magic) as Molly Hernandez. The teens can barely stand one another but must unite against a common enemy: their parents, who are part of an evil crime organization known as The Pride. The current plan is for it to premiere sometime in winter 2018.

It also affected phone company Telefónica (85% of Telefonica computers have been affected) and The global shipping company FedEx. Cybersecurity experts have been working around the clock to try to halt the malware attack that is unprecedented in scale.
The show takes place in the near future and focuses on the many challenges that come with taking the first steps toward the first manned mission to Mars.
