Sally Yates was the real blackmailer

The subpoena requests documents that might be relevant to the investigation into Russia's alleged meddling in the U.S. elections in 2016.

Around the same time this was all happening, Yates became a hero on the left for announcing that she would not defend Trump's original executive order attempting to temporarily ban travelers from seven majority-Muslim countries. The message was part of a series of late-night tweets about the testimony of former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates and the investigation as a whole.

Trump also told Holt that he was not aware of Flynn's payments from the Russian and Turkish governments, but wondered if maybe former President Barack Obama did.

"... Has Russia compromised, corrupted, cultivated or exerted improper influence on individuals associated with President Trump, his administration, his transition team, his campaign or his businesses?"

Yates was joined at the hearing by former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

She added, "We believe that the Russians knew this and that created a compromise situation, a situation where the national security adviser essentially could be blackmailed by the Russians".

Flynn, who was sacked from his White House position after lying about December phone calls he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, is under investigation in Congress, the FBI and the Pentagon over his dealings with Russians dating back to late 2005.

Trump dismissed the report as false, while Buzzfeed was criticized for engaging in questionable ethics for publishing the dossier without verification. "If nothing was done, certainly that would be concerning".

Moyes wants to stay at Sunderland but flags likely Defoe departure
I felt our players had a bit of tension, too much anxiety, and you need to be calm in the game to play with shape and energy. It is easy to see why the Sunderland goalkeeper is one of the most sought-after young English talents around.

Trump's main foreign policy adviser "met with a Russian intelligence operative in 2013 and provided him documents about the energy industry, according to court documents from a 2015 prosecution alleging a Cold War-style spy ring in New York", says Capitol Hill Blue.

Trump has been digging a hole for himself from the beginning on Russia-related issues. He also would have been tasked with investigating Trump's claim that Obama had Trump Tower phones "wiretapped" during the election, since the building falls within the Southern District of NY.

"My White House counsel, Don McGahn, came back to me and did not sound like an emergency", Trump told NBC News.

Flynn was paid $45,000 for an appearance in Moscow celebrating Russia Today, which is a Russian-funded news outlet that USA intelligence agencies have said helped publish and promote stolen emails that were meant to harm Hillary Clinton's president campaign.

The subpoenas seek business records from individuals who had worked with General Flynn on contracts after he was let go as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2014, as reported by CNN on Tuesday. It's yet the latest bit of evidence of an ongoing feud between the past and present presidential administrations as well as the tension between Trump's inner circle and the United States intelligence community.

Flynn previously said, through a lawyer, that he would testify in exchange for immunity. They argue that congressional committees are too partisan to conduct credible probes.

Trump took to Twitter on Monday after a Senate hearing on the subject, saying, "The Russia-Trump collusion story is a total hoax, when will this taxpayer funded charade end?" Trump tweeted afterwards, "Director Clapper reiterated what everybody, including the fake media already knows - there is "no evidence" of collusion w/ Russian Federation and Trump".

Trump's initial pick for national security adviser resigned after a Washington Post report revealed he had discussed the potential lifting of sanctions with the Russian ambassador before Trump took office.
