With a full day of rain and cold temperatures expected on Thurday, the Tigers postponed their scheduled game against the Cleveland Indians at 9:25 a.m., nearly four hours before the scheduled first pitch.

Kluber is 3-2 with a 5.06 ERA in six starts this season.

Avila lined reliever Zach McAllister's first pitch into left-center field for a two-run single in the fifth, pushing Detroit to a 7-1 lead.

"Young guys, historically, you don't know what you're going to get, but I think last year's experience and performances out of those guys down the stretch gave us hope, and they've proven that hope to be true this season". Miguel Cabrera retuned from the DL and launched a 2-run home run in the third inning.

This week, Norris collected his second win over Cleveland on Monday, holding it to one run over six innings.

Francona said that Kluber had an MRI on his back a while ago, but none of them revealed any problems that would have had him go on the DL.

Robbie Ray (2-2) struck out 10 against the team that drafted and signed him in 2010 but allowed two runs and four hits over six innings. Cabrera's two-run shot was part of a three-run third inning for the Tigers. He gave up a career-high nine on 11 hits over four innings in a 13-6 loss in Cleveland on April 15. Cabrera has been sidelined since April 21, when he suffered a groin injury.

A Ducks win would square the series, while the Oilers could take a 3-1 lead if they can bounce back from Sunday's home defeat. Neal scored unassisted to give the Predators a 2-0 lead at 13:03 on a wrist shot from above the right faceoff circle.

Francona called for left-hander Andrew Miller and closer Cody Allen to work the final three innings.

The Tigers are finally getting back their star first baseman, Miguel Cabrera.

"Their pitchers did a great job of holding down our offense last season", Cabrera said.

The Indians took a 1-0 lead in the first inning Tuesday night on an RBI single by Michael Brantley that scored Carlos Santana.

Inclement weather has forced a postponement of Thursday's series finale between the Cleveland Indians and host Detroit Tigers.

Now, the Mets face the challenge of turning their season around without the 24-year-old, who is 1-2 with a 3.29 ERA in five starts.
