Suspended Matt Harvey to file a grievance against the Mets

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reported that Harvey will be filing a grievance against the Mets.

Mets star pitcher Matt Harvey was suspended three days without pay by the team on Sunday for an undisclosed violation of team rules, the latest hiccup for a club beset by problems on and off the field this season.

An All-Star in 2013 who helped the Mets reach the World Series in 2015, Harvey has not been the same pitcher since then. He knows. And the team knows.

Urena struck out two, walked one and only needed 63 pitches to complete six innings.

Harvey, who earns approximately about $5 million per year, will be out approximately $94,900 as a result of the suspension.

Braun on track for TuesdayBrewers left fielder Ryan Braun (strained right forearm) did not start for the fifth straight game but remains on schedule to return to the lineup Tuesday, for the opener of a three-game series against the Red Sox.

Everything about the Mets feels out of control today, with the rash of injuries, the Nationals breaking away in the East and now the swift and stunning suspension of Matt Harvey, the franchise's onetime prince gone rogue. The timing of the suspension coupled with the Mets' signature but always freaky refusal to share details with the press - "We're going to keep it in-house, the way it's supposed to be", manager Terry Collins said about the reason behind the three-game ban - lent extra credence to the speculation that something either really bad or really weird must have happened.

Italy, with higher public debt than France, a fragile banking sector and fractured politics, may produce the next Eurozone crisis. That means many of them may be burdened by the handicap of being largely unknown to voters in constituencies they compete for.

It's hard to acquire an everyday player for a starter, which is why I wouldn't be afraid to throw Lucas Duda into a deal with Harvey this year.

"This was a team thing, and therefore it's going to remain with the team", manager Terry Collins said.

Now Harvey is caught in that glare again. At Las Vegas this season, Wilk was 2-3 with a 5.91 ERA in six starts. That incident had people questioning where Harvey's motives lied; being with the Mets or his own self. Something - or some things - gave Harvey the impression that either what he was doing wasn't wrong, or it was wrong but wouldn't matter. After just a few lean years (and relatively lean at that; most franchises would kill for a better-than-.500 season to be termed a failure), the Bronx Bombers have come out ahead; after a brief taste of competence and success, the Mets look to be wandering back into the desert.

The Mets, careful not to make another boner, then played it safe and tweeted out a close-up video of Rivera. So did Zack Wheeler. The previous year, Harvey sparred publicly with the Mets over where he would rehab from Tommy John surgery; the two parties eventually struck a compromise.

Collins did say that rules had been broken and the organization took a stance.

It's not the plan that should be faulted; they happened to have four really good arms - what were they supposed to do?
