One person is dead and another injured after a vehicle crash following a police pursuit in South Auckland.
It was found shortly after at the intersection of Mangere and Walmsley roads, where it had crashed into a building.
The 29-year-old involved in a fatal early-morning police chase in Auckland was a disqualified driver.
His next of kin are still being notified.
A stationary police auto saw the vehicle doing burn-outs, police say.
Officers tried to pull it over but it fled at "a great rate of knots", he said.

His 27-year-old passenger, who has not yet been named, died at the scene.
The 29-year-old driver of the auto - who was disqualified from driving at the time of the crash - was taken to Middlemore Hospital with serious injuries and is in a stable condition.
The scene has been cleared and the road reopened.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and the crash will be reported to the Independent Police Conduct Authority (IPCA).
