As they shared the stage on Tuesday at a conference in Berlin on women's empowerment, Ivanka Trump expressed humility about her new position.

The first daughter faced jeers from an unsympathetic audience as she attended the G20 women's summit in Berlin alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel, IMF head Christine Lagarde and others.

Ivanka Trump said taking in Syrian refugee children into the USA should be "part of the discussion" as the country's civil war rages on.

The audience's booing and hissing, however, came when Ms Trump praised her father for supporting paid-leave policies.

"He encouraged me and enabled me to thrive".

"I'm listening, I'm learning, I'm defining the ways in which I think that I'll be able to have impact" in empowering women in the USA economy and beyond, she said.

As well as his military show of force, Trump has also sought to pressure China to do more to rein in its nuclear-armed neighbour. As the carrier group drills continued, the USS Michigan arrived in the South Korean port of Busan on Tuesday, the U.S.

Citing the United States as an example, Trump said the business climate for women entrepreneurs is "incredibly exciting", given that only 30 percent of private businesses are owned by women, despite representing half of the population.

Risa Heller, a personal spokeswoman for Ivanka Trump, referred The Post's questions to the White House.

"Well, certainly not the latter, and I am rather unfamiliar with this role as well, as it is quite new to me", replied Ivanka, a top adviser to her father.

But the audience was unsympathetic when she called her father a "tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive", with the moderator moving the discussion on amid a chorus of boos.

However the German leader also excited the audience by looking clearly confused after the panel's moderator asked her if she was a feminist.

Before the event, the president tweeted that he is "proud of @IvankaTrump for her leadership on these important issues". I think it would be, have to be - I think it would be very hard as a human being to see the images that we saw and not react and not be very shaken to the core. "Ivanka has had a long history with the magazine", Vogue editor-in-chief tells The Business of Fashion in an interview, "and I have respect for Ivanka and everything that she has achieved". The officials said that the idea under consideration might be a World Bank "facility", which would be like a fund that could also provide expert technical assistance to the women-owned businesses that its investments help.
