Deal to send Marshawn to Raiders getting closer

Even not being a Raiders fan, I find it pretty cool to see Lynch closing out his career for his hometown team.

With former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch finally agreeing to terms with the Oakland Raiders, they can finally look towards the 2017 National Football League draft and know that they have the running back position covered.

Lynch reportedly has agreed to a two-year deal with the Raiders, making the trade a go.

The Seahawks owned Lynch's rights for the 2017 season. As first reported by Dallas Star-Telegram's Clarence Hill Jr.in a tweet, Lynch will make the announcement official, following a physical, via autograph signing and block party in Oakland.

Earlier, the Raiders have set a deadline for Lynch on whether to join the Raiders or not.

Lynch is prepared to return to the game.

Lynch retired after the 2015 season, but was born and raised in Oakland, so the trade was likely the only move that would entice him to return.

"They're still talking", Schneider said on Monday. He had a few things to say, "He's one heck of a football player, and I hope to play with him".

Upon announcing the news, the Raiders posted a video of Lynch meeting with general manager Reggie McKenzie and head coach Jack Del Rio before leaving the team facility while wearing one of the team's helmets.

Working out a trade had been regarded as the best-case scenario for each side. It's a good bet Lynch's deal is somewhere around $3.5 million. That would have forced Seattle to just release Lynch.

Following the signing of Lynch, there were still some questions that people wanted answered. Lynch didn't want to do that, and might have asked for the Raiders to up his salary as a result. The running back was an integral part of the Seahawks recent Super Bowl runs and Seattle's ground game has never fully recovered since his departure.

"It's a process", McKenzie said. He may not get to play in Las Vegas with the team. You don't want to just ride one all the time.
