Ann Coulter condemns Berkeley protestors who have committed "viewpoint discrimination" and hurt her reputation.
Like several conservatives before her, Coulter has promised to live up to her obligations, regardless of the university's security situation.
That probably would have put security officials on high alert and might have sparked another showdown in struggles over campus safety, student views and ideological openness.
"What are they going to do?"
Prior to the new invitation, Coulter had made mention that she fully meant to move forward and host her speech, in the face of the rescinded first invitation. The location will be disclosed once campus officials have finalized the details with the Coulter organization and the two student organizations that invited her, the Berkeley College Republicans and BridgeUSA. The pro- Trump and Anti- trump protesters clashed off in campus.
The organizers said they followed protocol, acceding to the school's "discriminatory" conditions, only to have the event rescheduled to a time when most students would be studying for exams.
Coulter and the group arranging her event said they are rejecting the new invitation.
Coulter had been booked for April 27, but Berkeley administrators abruptly canceled her engagement on Wednesday, citing security concerns.

For those who are on the public beta program, the new update may be released within a couple of days. The most recent Apple TV software update includes a new fast scrolling method and SDK improvements.
Coulter herself said in a tweet Wednesday she's still planning on coming to Berkeley to speak and blasted the school for canceling the event. The university had drawn criticism from prominent figures on both the right and left for the cancellation, which was described as an abridgment of free speech.
"We also have an unwavering commitment to providing for the safety and well-being of speakers who come to campus, our students and other members of our campus and surrounding communities". At the same time, we respect and support Ms. Coulter's own First Amendment rights. "We are going to be making a concerted effort to explain the reasons behind this".
The decision came just one day after the school confirmed it had canceled the speech.
"This is a grave mistake", Reich said in a Facebook post. As with other US colleges and universities, it has tried to find a balance between ideological openness, student safety and student opposition to what some describe as "hate speech".
It's one thing to cancel an address at the last moment because university and local police are not prepared to contain violence - as occurred, sadly, with Yiannopoulos.
Berkeley is still reeling from a violent protest that erupted on April 15 when supporters and opponents of President Donald Trump clashed.
Free speech is what universities are all about.
In its letter, the university said the students and officials could work together to reschedule the event for a later date.
