The model will be built on Volvo's new Scalable Product Architecture and exported globally as the company works toward a target of selling one million electrified cars by the middle of the next decade, plans which also include the addition of a plug-in hybrid version of every Volvo model.
Volvo Cars, the premium vehicle maker, will build its first fully electric vehicle in China, the company announced today at Auto Shanghai in China.

Last year, GM sold nearly 4 million vehicles in China, which means that if they want to follow the requirements, they will have to sell more EVs in China in 2019 alone than they have cumulatively around the world over the past decade.
