"The photo from Wednesday only showed players and coaches; the 2015 photo showed players, coaches and support staff and has been removed", the correction note said. The first was taken during the Patriots' visit with President Barack Obama in 2015, with the second being the Patriots' visit with President Trump on Wednesday.

Soon after that game, several prominent Patriots players - including Martellus Bennett, LeGarrette Blount, Devin McCourty, and Alan Branch - specifically said that they would not go because of President Donald Trump. He said almost 50 players attended the event in 2015 when Obama hosted. "In 2017, they were seated on the South Lawn", the team wrote in the reply.

The Patriots' official Twitter account responded to the claims showing pictures from both events.

The mother-of-two's criticism comes on the same day her National Football League husband Tom Brady skipped a visit to the White House with his New England Patriot's teammates.

Ottawa was the better team in Game 3 and rightfully won. "There's a good chance he'll draw back into the lineup". The Senators haven't done things the easy way this season, so why would they start now.

Later on Wednesday, the Times tweeted photos of the of Patriots at the White House celebrating their Super Bowl victory in 2015 vs. 2017. Thirty-six players attended in 2002.

The account later noted that while the Patriots' more recent visit had fewer players in attendance, the delegation at the White House "was roughly the same" to 2015. "Today, we had 34". Quarterback Tom Brady, who was previously spoken about his relationship with Trump was not in attendance on Wednesday.

President Trump then took to Twitter to slam the "failing" Times for getting caught in the "big lie".

Earlier in the day Tom Brady announced that he wouldn't be attending the White House due to "personal matters" which is effectively his way of saying "I'm still distancing myself from Donald Trump and that's all I have to say about that".
