Trump assailed the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal during his 2016 campaign and announced shortly after his inauguration that the US would withdraw from the Pacific Rim-based TPP, which now includes 11 countries from Chile to New Zealand.

Tensions on the peninsula have ratcheted up in recent weeks amid analysts' warnings that North Korea was preparing for a sixth nuclear test.
Administration officials, however, have also hinted the priority remained diplomacy, with an emphasis on leaning on China to exert influence over its neighbor.
A senior North Korean official said in an interview with the BBC this week that North Korea would conduct missile tests "on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis", and any military action against it by the United States would prompt "all-out war".
Pence told reporters President Donald Trump was confident that economic and diplomatic pressure from the "family of nations" had a chance of compelling North Korea to cooperate.
While the Trump administration talks tough on North Korea, viewers were alarmed when Trump didn't appear to even know who the leader of North Korea was during a "Fox & Friends" interview on Tuesday.
The next session is scheduled to take place in the United States sometime this year, but the Japanese government feels there are no easy compromises to make in these areas, and so would like to avoid discussing them, observers said.
"We will not rest and will not relent until we obtain the objective of a denuclearized Korean Peninsula", he said.
Iran accused of 'alarming provocations'
He had said in January of 2016 after the deal was implemented that " Iran will not get its hands on a nuclear bomb". Former US President Barack Obama had said the deal would make the world safer and more secure.
Pence's comments come just days after South Korea and Japan avoided being tagged currency manipulators by the U.S. Treasury. He says the Trump administration's plans to simplify the US tax code and cut the corporate tax rate will "benefit every business represented here today". In fact, there are some similarities.
"The Chinese often express frustration with North Korea, and disappointment".
But the new strategy Pence described does break from Obama's in two key respects.
China made a plea for a return to negotiations. Per Pence's explanation, the new administration wants North Korea to give up its programs in their entirety without direct talks of any kind.
Sadayuki Sakakibara, chairman of Japan's largest business lobby Keidanren, described a meeting Pence held with business leaders before the speech as "truly meaningful".
The Indonesia President aid at the joint news conference with Pence that the two countries would "increase the strategic partnership. which will focus on cooperation and investments".
