Ready to apologise if my tweets were 'anti-Muslim': Sonu Nigam

Sonu Nigam has had to face severe backlash after his continued protest against what he calls "enforced religiousness". Now, Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, vice-president of the West Bengal Minority United Council, has issued a fatwa against the singer. "Keep your 10 lakhs ready Maulavi", he tweeted.

"If we all become so intolerant of each other's religions, we will soon have a bunch of atheists in our country". Sonu Nigam reacted in kind and said, "Today at 2 pm Aalim will come to my place, and shave my head. People like Nigam should be driven out of the country", he added.

The WBMUC vice president said that the council will also organise a mass rally at Rani Rashmoni Avenue in central Kolkata.

So what that Alonso is racing the Indy 500?
Renault is said to be the latest team looking to offer Alonso a route out of McLaren, and Brown admits the rumoured interest comes as no surprise.

The debate took an interesting turn when Nigam even invited the press to participate at the event at 2pm. Barkati is known as the "Fatwa Imam" for announcing edicts against political leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and authors Salman Rushdie and Taslima Nasreen.

Reacting to Quaderi's fatwa, Sonu Nigam has agreed to go bald. I stand by my statement that loudspeakers should not be allowed in Mosques & Temples. "Former chief minister Siddhartha Shankar Ray fought the petition and the court turned down the plea", he told HT on Wednesday. She had said that every morning she wakes up with the sound of azaan and finds it so good that she keeps her apartment windows open in the morning to listen to it. "When will this forced religiousness end in India", one of Nigam's tweets read. "I'm hurt as my dearest brother @sonunigam tweeted such words about #Azaan n not being a Muslim #Gundagiri knowing U never expected ths not U". She also said the Azaan was like music to her ears.

In his series of tweets, Sonu explained that he was not objecting to the use of loudspeakers and not the "azaan" or prayer.
