Bucks beat Raptors 97-83 in shocking Game 1

Milwaukee ended up winning 97-83 with Giannis Antetokounmpo leading all scorers with 28 points on 13-of-18 shooting.

Lowry has made seven 3-pointers on 49 attempts in the first round the past two postseasons. He also floored DeRozan late in the second quarter, collecting a foul to deny a dunk.

"Now we've got to make sure we counter that and make the officials make a decision".

If it weren't for the fantastic 42 triple-doubles of Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook, not to mention the 22 of the Houston Rockets' James Harden, Bucks coach Jason Kidd believes Antetokounmpo would be squarely in the Most Valuable Player discussion.

Milwaukee used the attention on Antetokounmpo to move the ball and get open looks, finishing with 22 assists.

The Raps backed into the game as they normally do, giving up 30 points in the first quarter.

The athletic rookie's high-energy play turned the game in the third quarter, sparking the Bucks to erase a six point deficit and take the lead.

Antetokounmpo was a raw talent out of Greece when he was taken with the 15th overall pick by the Bucks in the 2013 draft.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been, at times, the surprise and disappointment of the league this season. His first playoffs bucket coming off an offensive rebound early in the game.

"I thought the effort and energy was there, but we've still got some Xs and Os to clean up", LeBron said after the game.

Blues Legend: It's Squeaky Bum Time For Tottenham, Not Chelsea
Four of their remaining six matches are at Stamford Bridge and none of those against a top side. I think I'm learning. "I think we played really well, a very solid performance".

Last season against Indy Lowry went just 2-for-9 in the opener and returned in Game 2 to give the Raptors 14 points and nine boards in a win.

The two days between games were long and probably unnecessary, but they did give the Raptors plenty of time to address the Antetokounmpo factor and more importantly for Ibaka gave him time to heal.

"Officials have a hard job, they have the hardest job in sport in terms of calling the game and speed of the game and physicality now, the athletic ability of the players today, it's very difficult".

Casey said that Serge Ibaka, who did not participate in practice on Monday, did go through Tuesday's shootaround. They gameplanned really well for us. The Bucks scored eight straight points, including four from Khris Middleton, to make it 85-71 with 8:47 left.

"The defence just focuses so much on him", echoed Thon Maker, a seven-foot-one centre from South Sudan whose basketball journey took him to the Athlete Institute Basketball Academy in not far away Orangeville.

The rebuilding Bucks have more talent now, and they have the luxury of bringing Maker along at a slower pace. In Saturday's game, Middleton had 10 points with nine assists.

Hopefully this win will wake up some of those people who think the Jazz are just a "nice regular-season team".

After Game 1, the Toronto Raptors find themselves in familiar territory.

Between them, Ibaka, P.J. Tucker and DeMarre Carroll would have to be considered the top three defenders on the Toronto roster. He has appeared in 418 regular-season games. Greg Monroe also impressed, playing perhaps the most active defense of his career.

The rule of thumb for Game 2, if you are a member of the Raptors, should be this: If you see open space in front of Antetokounmpo, quickly fill it. Fill it with your body, or throw someone else in front of him if you have to.
