Shakespeare worked with Palace boss Sam Allardyce during Allardyce's 67 days as England manager.

But Allardyce has revealed why Palace couldn't include the option to buy Sakho at the end of his loan deal.

"What a great deal that was".

"If we can't win we know that we need to make sure we don't lose".

"There has to be a change of direction that doesn't allow any football club to nick our best 14-year-old whenever they feel", said Allardyce.

"At the moment that has paid off for us", he added. But the decisions had to be made between me, Steve [Parish] and the owners as quickly as we possibly could, and they looked to have helped us to turn it round. "We are not safe and can't talk about Mama Sakho being a permanent deal here because we're still not safe and our position in the Premier League is not safe".

Everyone recognizes that all games in this league are hard, but Palace and Sam will have to be at their very best and rely on a bit of luck, with teams like Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United yet to come.

Cavs hold on for win
At some point in the playoffs, the team will find its groove and make its way through the East to meet the Warriors in the Finals. The series will now shift back to IN for Game 3, as Cleveland carries along the same problems that plagued them all season long.

Player ratingsCrystal Palace: Wayne Hennessey 5, Joel Ward 6, Martin Kelly 5, Mamadou Sakho 6, Jeffrey Schlupp 7, Luka Milivojevic 7, Yohan Cabaye 8, Jason Puncheon 7, Wilfried Zaha 6, Andros Townsend 8, Christian Benteke 8.

The 22-year-old Belgium global isn't having the best of times on loan at Sunderland at present, but seeing as United are willing to sell him, according to the Daily Mail, Palace could do a lot worse than sign him as a replacement.

Belgium global Adnan Januzaj is set to depart Old Trafford in the summer for pastures new.

He said: 'Since he's come back and how well he's done - his development, his more consistent performances - we would all love him to be at Crystal Palace for a long period of time.

"I know there is a reputation for a lot of players, but that is not how you can judge it".

"He gained that experience (in moving to Manchester and not playing)".

Palace are six points above the relegation zone but a win this weekend would move them ahead of Leicester which would suggest the Premier League champions are not 100% safe either.
