Three-game ban rules Neymar out of El Clasico

Barcelona's Brazilian superstar Neymar's fans will miss his presence in the biggest La Liga clash against Real Madrid on April 23 after suspension in three games.

Perhaps what is more intriguing is that Gil reports "Neymar was isolated this time from the rest of players, very affected by his expulsion, in a painful return journey".

Barcelona play Real Sociedad before travelling to Real Madrid later in April, meaning Neymar is nearly certain to miss the El Clasico.

Neymar was criticized by fans and Barcelona's local media for needlessly picking up two yellow cards that ultimately cost his club an opportunity to come back against Malaga on Saturday.

However, his punishment was increased because he sarcastically applauded the fourth official as he walked down the tunnel.

Barcelona will be without Neymar for this month's Clasico against Real Madrid after he was banned for three matches by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The club now sits 3 points behind Real Madrid, with one more game played (effectively putting them 6 points behind, unless Madrid falters).

Thousands from South Africa's opposition parties converged in Pretoria on Wednesday to protest against President Jacob Zuma . Zuma was not in Pretoria for his birthday.

"I think the interpretation of the yellow cards is special", said Enrique.

Since the suspension applies to domestic competitions only, Neymar is free to take part in both legs of Barcelona's UEFA Champions League quarterfinal against Serie A side Juventus.

Barcelona forward Neymar could be suspended for the El Clasico after his sending off in the 2-0 loss against Malaga on Saturday, according to AS.

An African star keeps on haunting FC Barcelona's potent attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, who may have lost the La Liga title on the weekend.

The result sees Luis Enrique's side fail to capitalise on leaders Real Madrid's 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid earlier in the day, while Los Blancos maintain a three-point advantage with a game in hand.
