What The Mumbai Indians will look to make it four wins in a row when they take on the Gujarat Lions in Match 16 of VIVO IPL 2017.

The match was decided in the final over of the innings as the Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit (40, 29b, 3x4, 1x6) finished the game with three balls to spare.

Where was the match won?

Earlier electing to bowl, Gujarat Lions got off to a prefect start as veteran Praveen Kumar (1/51) removed risky Ajinkya Rahane for a duck with the third ball of the innings. It resulted in two new players at the middle - Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard (39, 23b, 2x4, 3x6).

The hectic nature of the league - with two matches scheduled over three days sometimes - has hardly given Sharma to mull over and quickly find ways to put an end to the nightmarish experience of getting beaten in the air and off the pitch.

Pollard and Kurnal Pandya (37 not out) then revived Mumbai'schase with a remarkable 93-run stand off 57 balls and batted brilliantly against the two other spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Pawan Negi. The skipper also lofted Jadeja for an inside out six over extra cover. Mumbai had just recovered from a mini wobble where they had lost Nitish Rana and Jos Buttler (26) in quick succession.

Over 60% of Tye's deliveries were knuckle balls bowled at slower than 120 kph, and he got four of his five wickets off that delivery.

After one over, McCullum was also sent back to the pavilion by experienced pacer Lasith Malinga.

Among the bowlers, one expects LasithMalinga will be back in the MI XI and his four overs could have a huge impact on the game.

Malinga, conceded 12 runs in his first over at the Wankhede track, where the ball came on to the bat.

Mumbai Indians, requiring 177 runs to win, suffered a disastrous start with Parthiv Patel out in the second ball of their innings.

Harbhajan Singh has been fantastic in the Powerplay overs.

Gujarat Lions take on Mumbai Indians in Kanpur.

It should be an interesting contest when these bowlers will be up against Gujarat's destructive batsmen Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina, Aaron Finch and Dinesh Karthik. Harbhajan once again was economical in his four-over spell.

With three wins, Mumbai Indians are now at the top of the table, just behind Kolkata Knight Riders, with six points in total.
