Officer fired after kicking handcuffed man

The incident was captured on cellphone video by a witness stuck behind the stopped auto and the police vehicle.

Two white police officers in Gwinnett County, Georgia, were kicked off the force Thursday, after videos surfaced showing them beating a black motorist during a Wednesday traffic stop, CNN reported.

In the footage, Officer Robert McDonald emergef from off the screen then kicked Hollins as he lay on the floor.

Ayers said Bongiovanni didn't mention punching Hollins in his incident report or in a subsequent interview.

Deon Washington said a shift commander "initiated an immediate investigation" after being notified of the incident. He was released on bond Thursday afternoon.

Ayers was visibly upset as he held his second press conference to talk about firing the officers Thursday evening.

The video, shared on Facebook by Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta, shows a second officer pull the man out of his auto and roll him onto his stomach.

A working phone number for McDonald couldn't be found, and the phone at a number listed for Bongiovanni rang to a full voicemail box. But now that only means that both officers need to be fired.

Bongiovanni's account of the Wednesday traffic stop is similar to another incident report he filed in August after he pulled over Hollins, and McDonald responded to his call for backup. An ambulance responded to the scene and treated the man. Hollins also changed lanes three times without a signal.

Hollins yelled and refused to obey orders when Bongiovanni ordered him out of the vehicle and resisted when Bongiovanni tried to arrest him, the report says. In this video, Bongiovanni can be seen approaching Hollins, who is still inside the vehicle. I turned him away from me and tried to pin him between the door and the auto.

The man in the vehicle, Demetrius Hollins, attempted to restart his auto. The officer also said he smelled marijuana. That triggered Bongiovanni's memory of the August arrest, and he made a decision to call for backup, according to the report.

Bongiovanni said he deployed his Taser on Hollins multiple times and placed him on the ground.

When Hollins refused verbal commands to exit, McDonald told him that he was under arrest.

Hollins' mom, Tamara Crenshaw, harbors the same fear that all mothers face - watching her child being hurt and not being able to do anything about it. Hollins had a bloody lip and nose.

The officer then grabbed Hollins by his shoulder inside the vehicle and pulled him out.

"If there were no cameras, they would have gotten away with it", Hollins' lawyer Justin Miller told NBC News. Chief Ayers called his action inexcusable. Video surveillance showed the deputy had "forced the arrestee face-first into a brick wall, slammed the arrestee's head into the wall and then punched the arrestee in the back of the head with a closed fist".
