Marshawn Lynch Officially Begins Reinstatement Process, Hopes to Join Raiders

Seattle placed Lynch on the reserved/retired list, which maintained its rights.

After virtually nothing for a month, Thursday brought news that Marshawn Lynch was starting the process to be reinstated to the NFL. Plus now we will get Marshawn Lynch in Las Vegas and after he was just at the arm wrestling competition that other National Football League players got in trouble.

Lynch is from Oakland and has said in the past he'd like to play for his home team.

Lynch and the Raiders reportedly met last week and they're interested in acquiring Lynch after losing Latavius Murray, who signed a free agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

During Lynch's time with the Seahawks, he was a fan favorite of the "12th Man".

The Raiders still have to send compensation to the Seattle Seahawks to trade for him, unless the Seahawks willingly release him. His last season playing for Seattle is the evidence of that. Lynch has two years left on a big-money extension that would kick back in if he comes out of retirement, one neither the Seahawks nor Raiders are willing to pay now. In his final season with the Seahawks, he struggled with injuries.

If the Raiders added Lynch, it would also beg the question as to if the Broncos have done enough to keep pace in the highly competitive AFC West. Kerr has only started four games in three seasons.

In 2016, Cooper became the only player in NFL history with at least 500 receiving yards in the first six games of each of his first two years in the league.
