Kassian and Oilers run over Sharks

Armed with one game's worth of post-season experience and an entire season's worth of desperation, the Oilers ran the San Jose Sharks out of town on Friday, dominating the defending Western Conference champions in a 2-0 Game 2 victory that echoed all the way back to Silicon Valley. The San Jose Sharks have been in this spot before and showed their toughness in game one after bouncing back from being down 0-2 after the first period.

Kassian scored early in the second period and McDavid notched the insurance goal midway through the third period. Despite a late-season slump, San Jose is the better team in this series, and I bet we're going to have the chance to talk about them for longer than we will the Oilers.

"That first game there might have been a little bit of nerves there", said McDavid.

"It was one of those things, the puck seemed to follow me tonight". It begins at 8:30pm, believed to the latest an National Hockey League game has ever started in Edmonton.

The Sharks' power play has suffered from the absence of dominant center Joe Thornton.

In short, they looked very much like that 103-point team that challenged for the division title in the regular season. Getting the more experienced playoff team and the plus money is where I see value in this matchup.

The U.S. has concentrated on fighting them while also supporting Afghan forces against the Taliban. Military experts say that the use of the MOAB is strategically significant.

Oilers head coach Todd McLellan said himself the Sharks got the better of line changes, at times being seven seconds ahead of Edmonton.

"From the second period on, we had control of that game".

"Guys were sitting on the bench for a while, and then you get out there, you feel like you have to stay and do more", said centre Mark Letestu. Defensively, the San Jose Sharks are allowing 2.4 goals per game and are killing 80.7 percent of their opponents power plays. The Sharks were 1 for 6 with the man advantage while Edmonton was 1 for 3.

"I felt like we controlled the play most of the second and third periods, so they took more penalties because we had the puck and they were chasing us", Logan Couture said.

"We addressed a few things today, one of them being shift length", said winger Jordan Eberle. "We continue to work closely with our partners from EPS and the City of Edmonton to encourage fans to have a great time while celebrating responsibly".

Seating is reserved and the net proceeds from the watch party will go to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation.
