Seahawks restricted free agent offensive tackle Garry Gilliam turned down a multi-year contract offer from the 49ers but could still negotiate with the team, according to a report from ESPN's Sheil Kapadia.
Gilliam this offseason became a restricted free agent and has yet to sign his tender with the Seahawks, allowing him to field offers from other clubs. If they don't, Gilliam will be forced to sign his one-year, $1.797 million tender from the Seahawks.
A visit to the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday raises questions about the future of right tackle Garry Gilliam with the Seattle Seahawks.
Gilliam is a restricted free agent with an original round tender.
If Gilliam decides to stay in Seattle and signs his tender by the deadline, he's expected to make just under $2 million for a one-year contract, but it won't be guaranteed. Gilliam wasn't an exception to that, but the 49ers may have seen something they liked during matchups with Seattle the last couple of years.

Gilliam played college football at Penn State and spent most of his years there as a tight end.
In 2015, Gilliam was downright decent as a right tackle and there was hope that he'd replace Russell Okung on the left side and perhaps even grow into being a high-caliber player there. I actually think the project itself worked out quite well, because I mean he was an undrafted free agent playing a completely new position and he's managed to start 30 games in three seasons.
"Luke is a guy who started at left tackle, was drafted at left tackle".
That would nearly certainly mean Ifedi and Gilliam competing for the right tackle spot with Gilliam in a precarious position since his $1.797 million salary is not guaranteed.
He was then benched late in the season when Bradley Sowell returned from injury and was inserted at right tackle.
