United Airlines pledges to review passenger removal policies

The company's market capitalization dropped $255 million yesterday and people are demanding airlines no longer be able to oversell seats or bump ticketed passengers from flights.

"No, he can't be", Munoz said when asked whether Dao was at fault in any way.

Now, Emirates have taken a fresh dig at United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz, referencing a comment he made about the rival airline earlier this month. "That is not who our family at United is", he said. Finding none - and no takers for financial compensation - four passengers were selected at random to give up their seats. Royal Jordanian Airlines joined in with a pun on the man being dragged from the plane, while Turkish Airlines pointed out that it last week added an extra passenger to one of its flights after a baby was born on board.

It came after Munoz issued his third statement in as many days over the incident, offering his "deepest apologies" and saying it is "never too late to do the right thing".

United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz on Tuesday issued a public apology over the airline's mistreatment of an Asian passenger. Security officers were called who were then recorded by passengers forcibly removing Dao from the plane.

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal is calling for a federal probe into United Airlines after video surfaced over the weekend showing a passenger being forcibly removed from a plane in Chicago.

He also demanded off Modi-government to explain why Jadhav used to travel using a passport issued under a fake name. Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the government will do everything possible to get justice for Jadhav.

"We have not provided our front-line supervisors and managers with the proper tools, policies and procedures that allow them to use their common sense", he said. That man later said he quit his job because Dao "pursued him aggressively" and arranged to provide him with prescription drugs in exchange for sex.

Dr Dao is being treated at a Chicago hospital for injuries he suffered on the plane and has not spoken publicly about the incident.

"The family of Dr. Dao wants the world to know that they are very appreciative of the outpouring of prayers, concern and support they have received", Golan said.

"I do look forward to a time when I can ... as much as I've been able to apologize directly to him for what happened", Munoz said.

Munoz's response to the incident was to send an internal e-mail to United employees commending them for "going above and beyond" and saying he "emphatically" backed them.
