Zambia's opposition chief has stated that President Edgar Lungu wants to kill him after police raided his residence firing tear gas.

Hichilema allegedly refused to give way to Lungu's convoy as they were both travelling to Western province for a traditional ceremony at the weekend.

Hichilema's lawyer Jack Mwiimbu said the opposition leader had been moved to Lilayi Police Training School in the capital for questioning.

Mr Hichilema was detained after armed police raided his family home, during which teargas canisters were thrown inside.

Hichilema was arrested midday after he surrendered himself to police that were on his tail a night long. "As a party, we are extremely anxious", Katuka said.

Hakainde Hichilema, leader of the United Party for National Development, alleged fraud in Zambia's presidential vote.

However, those who would prefer to purchase it on its own will have to wait until April 25th, with the DLC itself costing $14.99. The first season will have players combat Unidad's threat to the country in The Rise and Fall of Unidad.

"My lips are swollen, my eyes are swollen, my skin is itching", Hichilema said by phone from Lusaka.

Police spokeswoman Esther Katongo said she could not comment. But Charles Kakoma, the spokesperson of the opposition party said the party was law abiding and could have stopped to allow Lungu to pass if they had noticed his motorcade.

"They left the home after picking him". "His wife fainted three times last night because of the tear gas", Mwiimbu told Reuters.

On Sunday, presidential spokesman Amos Chanda said in a statement Hichilema had obstructed Lungu's motorcade, saying Hichilema's motorcade maintained its lane instead of getting off the road.

Hichilema lost to the then incumbent Edgar Lungu in presidential polls held in August a year ago. "The unfortunate part is that the police are being unprofessional considering that it is the (ruling party) who have been proposing that HH must be charged with treason".

Last year, Hichilema and party vice-president Geoffrey Mwamba were arrested for unlawful assembly and sedition when they tried to visit supporters in jail.
