Last night's 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony had a heavy hip-hop influence as a result of 2Pac earning a spot in the class. That was spontaneous. We were making records and it was just a moment. "He's American history", Snoop said.

Snoop also paid homage to Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, telling of the night he went to her after Pac was shot in 1996 on the Las Vegas strip. You see, I was a zig-zag man before that ... and we became very good friends quickly thereafter.

Disco producer Nile Rodgers, the man behind 1970s hits like "Le Freak" and "We Are Family", was presented with a special award for musical excellence. You heard right. Snoop Dogg and Tupac parasailing together. "It's amusing because after he passed away, I started getting a lot of movie roles, and I always thought 'Pac was looking out for (me), even after he was gone". Strong and bold. Hard headed and intellectual. Whether that was him loving black people, him loving his homies, him loving his record label, and of course him loving his lovely and incredibly strong mother the late Afeni Shakur. "Let us build a great bridge, a lovely bridge, to welcome the exhausted and the poor", Baez told the Hall of Fame audience. I'm not talking about Pac the rapper, I'm not talking about Tupac the actor, I'm talking about Tupac the human being. "They can't take this away from you homie", he said, accepting the Hall of Fame statuette on Shakur's behalf.

Shakur, whose songs about social and racial injustice still resonate today, was only the 6th rap act to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in its 30-year history.

Not one to mince words, T.I. lashed out at millennials who mocked his Tupac-inspired wardrobe and called out their lack of respect for prior generations.
