Jamie Carragher opens up about Arsene Wenger's situation at Arsenal

I have managed over 1,000 games for Arsenal and we are not used to losing like that. We're very disappointed in that dressing room, like the fans are as well because we've let them down tonight.

The visiting fans turned on their players - "You're not fit to wear the shirt", they sang - and their beleaguered manager.

Wenger was adamant his players had not downed tools as they subsided to goals from Andros Townsend, Yohan Cabaye and a Luka Milivojevic penalty.

"It's a hard defeat but on top of that it has consequences on our chances to be in the top four. I think it would be inconvenient to speak about me tonight, it's more painful to lose the game like the way we lost this one", Wenger said in the press conference.

He added: "At the moment I pay more respect to the fact we had a disappointing result".

AW: I think they were sharper than us in the duels and certainly in many decisive situations tonight, yes. On that front of course, that is what is most hard for us.

Arsenal controlled possession against their 16th-placed hosts, having 72% of the ball, but were unable to make that dominance count.

A letter found near the site of the attack "takes responsibility for the act", a German prosecutor said, the Telegraph reported. Players and police were preparing to go ahead with the rescheduled match on Wednesday evening, with heavy security in place.

"It's damaging, of course" Wenger, who has led Arsenal to 20 successive top-four finishes, told Sky Sports. "It wasn't us at all".

"All we can do is apologise for that performance". He has brought them success over the years, winning three Premier League titles and six FA Cup trophies during his tenure, but a portion of the fan base has soured and wants him to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season. It was an uphill battle towards the end.

I can also say with confidence that the Gunners won't qualify for the Champions League but I can't say with confidence that this will be the season Arsene Wenger calls it a day at Arsenal.

It was a lifeless players from the players, as Sam Allardyce's men dominated the entire game and won comprehensively. They need to start smelling the coffee and seeing what Arsenal are. He is now managing the Invisibles.

Wenger's budget could rise closer to £200million if he cashes in on Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the close season, with a number of clubs keen on the duo. I don't get it. It should be up to the owners.

To the "Invisibles" - a team that lost three-nil to a relegation-threatened side.
