Celtic have won a sixth consecutive Scottish Premiership title with eight games to spare after thrashing Hearts 5-0 at Tynecastle on Sunday.

Socceroos midfielder Tom Rogic continues to make a good recovery from his ankle injury but will not make Celtic's Scottish Premier League clash against Hearts.

Star strikers Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths were out injured for the return to Edinburgh but the former Manchester City and Aston Villa forward rendered their absence irrelevant with two well-taken goals in three first-half minutes.

The 1,476 Celtic fans behind the goal stepped their celebrations up further when Roberts curled in number four with his left foot from just inside the box after being slipped in by McGregor.

"I never get too carried away when we win and it helps me to never get too disappointed when we lose", said Rodgers who was happy but calm.

They face rivals Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-finals later this month.

"It is going to be tough and we have to stay humble and remain focused, but we've got a big squad and people coming in who can do the job", Lustig said.

"We have had many outstanding performances but we have only just begun, because there's still an very bad lot of development in this team".

"The win probably typified how they've been for the majority of the season".

"I think it's been the hallmark of their work this season - the professionalism they've showed, the attitude and determination and style in which they've played".

A lack of competition has also raised questions about whether Celtic should test themselves in the Premier League.

While he missed the game in which the title was wrapped up, Rogic should be back on the park to finish the season and get another medal placed around his neck.

"We take the energy and hunger from training into games and, from a coaching perspective, that's great to see".

Kieran Tierney will not ask Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers for a stint at right-back ahead of Scotland's World Cup qualifier against England in June.

"I said when I came that, when I move on from here, whether the club move me on or I decide to go, I want this club to be in a better place", Rodgers said.
